Multicolor Mirabell™ at the Pro Carton / ECMA Awards

After many years with different packaging materials, the premium coffee manufacturer illy caffè decided to change to cartonboard. The Goal was to still achieve the impression of a metal packaging, but using a sustainable and light material. In close cooperation between MM Karton and the converter Lucaprint, this was brillantly achieved with Multicolor Mirabell™ (MCM) 400 gsm and lead to the ECMA award for the category „sustainablity“.
According to the jury, one of the decisive reasons for the award was that a packaging material like this clearly highlights the sustainable advantages of cartonboard due to its renewable raw materials, its lightness and its biodegradability. Additonally, it arrives at the converter flat and thus saves even more storage and shipping costs. By using several finishing techniques, the versatility of cartonboard packaging could be impressively demonstrated.
Multicolor Mirabell™ is produded in a grammage range between 230 to 650 gsm at four prodution sites. Thanks to the MultiMill concept of MM Karton, customers of higher quanties have an improved supply reliability - the same quality is available from different locations!
