Topcolor™ An excellent Choice

23.01.2013 - Recycled Cartonboard

The creations of artist Luisa Kuhn remind us that cartonboard is anything but one-dimensional and can inspire the imagination. Her works, formed out of MMK cartonboard, won the Public‘s Choice Award at the 22nd Bonn Art Fair in Germany.

The art fair at the Women’s Museum in Bonn has for years been a firm fixture on the art scene, and a showcase for new ideas. In late November, more than 100 well-known established female artists and emerging talents presented their works across 3000 sqm of exhibition space. Pictures, objects and concepts from contemporary art
opened a wide spectrum of high-class, innovative trends. Over the fair’s three days, visitors were given the chance to rate the exhibited works with their voting card. Luisa Kuhn came out on top of the competition – she received the 22nd Art Fair’s Public‘s Choice Award.

Kuhn’s four-dimensional works ‘time-space sculpture’ won over the public. Assembled in a darkened room and lit by spotlights, the object slowly revolves on its own axis, creating a breath-taking shadow display which opens up the ‘fourth dimension’ to the viewer.

For two of the objects – ‘Philosophy’ and ‘Time’ – the artist built on a structural frame made out of MMK’s TopcolorTM. “TopcolorTM provides excellent stability and remains true to form. I will continue using this high quality cartonboard with confidence in the future “, the artist explains. An excellent choice.
