19. – 22. September 2012: ECMA Congress in Copenhagen, Denmark

09.10.2012 - Fairs

On the occasion of ECMA’s 50th anniversary in 2010, the association set five major objectives for the coming years: profitability, sustainability, product safety, industry positioning and strengthening the structure of the organisation. The annual conference in 2012 in Copenhagen saw the undertaking of an interim review under the motto ‘Shifting Business Partners’. ECMA President Dr Andreas Blaschke opened the congress and introduced the new committees, the new management team and the ‘new’ ECMA.

The second day focused on corporate social responsibility (CSR), food safety and good manufacturing practice.

This included the presentation ceremony for the Pro Carton/ECMA Awards at the Copenhagen Opera House. One of MM Karton’s most well-known fresh fibre board qualities received an award: Excellent Top™ from Baiersbronn won in the ‘Other Food’ category. It features outstanding printability, a consistently high level of quality and great versatility. This multifunctionality was recognised with the award-winning packaging that can hold two cups in a safe and practical manner.

Other MM Karton qualities were also recognised. Champagne producer Taittinger used VenoplexTM 400 g/m2 for the interior of the packaging and won the ‘Carton of the Year’ category. The duplex cartonboard delivers a great deal of stability and the folding box has great appeal and truly stands out.
