Recognition of Young Designers at the Pro Carton/PPV AUSTRIA Design Award

30.11.2012 - Fairs

There was reason to celebrate at Austropapier’s 25th Printissimo Emballismo awards on 14 June in Vienna, Austria. The event saw Ing. Franz Rappold and Dr Andreas Blaschke, both Member of the Management Board at MM, present the ‘Pro Carton/PPV Austria Design Award’ to young designers.

This award distinguishes ideas that have not yet been released by promising young design students from Austrian design schools, all hailing from Styria in the southeast of Austria: Kalina Hristova from FH Joanneum in Graz won the ‘Packaging Design’ category with her ‘Tulipa’ gift package while Joseph Rathkolb and Patrick Schiestl won the ‘Other Applications’ category for their innovative and practical ‘Cup holder’. The international jury was impressed by the level of professionalism displayed and the well thought-out designs.

In addition to the awards, the young designers were invited to visit the MM Group for a week in August to gain a comprehensive and professional insight into the cartonboard and cardboard industry covering everything from production to sales and marketing right through to finishing the end product.
