MM GD Plus and MM GD 100: High-performance GD2 for high-speed Converting

20.06.2021 - Recycled Cartonboard

Since autumn 2020, a series of important investments were made in the German Gernsbach mill, not only pursuing the target of an efficient and responsible use of resources, but also the continuous optimisation of product quality.
The launch of our new GD2 recycled board family MM GD is a result of these continuous improvements and the new range has been thoroughly tested in the past months.

MM GD Plus will replace all previous Printa™ qualities. As a result of high customer demand, MM GD 100, made of 100% recycled fibre material, will join as an exciting new addition to the MM GD portfolio.

Benefits of MM GD Family

MM GD Family impresses with improved surface properties and flawless printing results:

  • Homogenous surface for outstanding dot reproduction and high contrast images
  • High-speed converting up to 18,000 sheets per hour due to perfect flatness and minimal dust formation
  • Proven excellent coding properties for laser and inkjet
  • Option to switch between MM GD Plus and MM GD 100% driven by market sustainability agendas

Conclusion: These benefits will lead to high efficiency and thus cost savings in the converting process.

Printing tests at Koenig & Bauer

Printing tests at Koenig & Bauer on a state-of-the-art Rapida 145 offset-printing machine confirmed the success of our rebuilding at Gernsbach mill: From the first sheet onwards, the machine ran with maximum speed of 18,000 sheets per hour, without any break.
