Redesigned Pallet Label: Optimising Logistics Processes

02.01.2013 - Company / Mills

Excellent organisation strengthens competitive positions. Shipment in particular requires exact planning and the latest information in order to guarantee the shortest possible reaction times. Pallet labels play a crucial part in this process. Mayr-Melnhof Karton now provides optimal support for efficient structures in our customers’ businesses through individualisation options.

Cartonboard manufactured in individual customer formats involves special logistical requirements. Here, the pallet label plays a central role. In order to enable even more individual customisation to customer requirements in the future, Mayr-Melnhof Karton has now comprehensively redesigned its pallet labels.

The newly structured A3-format layout features a modern design and presents all relevant information in a clear and vivid manner: While the green upper section contains product-specific information such as cartonboard grade, grammage, caliper and certifications, the lower part offers production details which enable swift and reliable assignment to a particular batch. Customer-specific information is located in the white middle area, which also leaves space for individually requested data. In addition to a company logo, for instance, bar- and matrix-codes can be inserted here. This avoids input errors, gains time and process security and thus increases efficiency. Beyond this, it is possible to add a comment to each pallet label and thereby specify further information concerning the pallet.

By redesigning its pallet labels, Mayr-Melnhof Karton provides additional support for logistics processes from internal material flows to shipping right through to highly efficient customer processes, allowing urgent processes to be completed with even greater precision. The new pallet labels are set to be implemented in the first half of 2013 – you will also enjoy the benefits.
